Join Sonic Yogi Jonathan Adams and Yoga Therapist Amanda Trevelino for a dreamy practice that deeply resets the nervous system, releases physical and mental tension, and offers a journey though our consciousness.
Beginning with gentle movement, we'll progress through relaxed stillness to Yoga Nidra, the yoga of sleep. Over the course of this experience, brain waves move from the active, thoughtful beta waves (14-40 Hz), then pass through the relaxed, thoughtless state of alpha waves (9-13 Hz), and enter the slowest frequency of deep sleep, delta waves (1-3 Hz). All to carefully arranged live music by Sonic Yogi, designed to facilitate the “hypnagogic state”—the threshold between alpha and theta waves—the knife’s edge where the body “sleeps” while the mind is lucid. Here, the analytical mind is suspended, and subconscious memory or deeply held experiences my be processed and released, leaving the practitioner renewed and relaxed.
